About Net Law Advocates
At Net Law Advocates, we represent individuals whose private information was exposed, misused, or mishandled in ways that may violate their legal rights. Our work is dedicated exclusively to plaintiffs, giving people across the United States a way to pursue accountability when cybersecurity failures, privacy violations, or improper data practices cause legally recognized harm.
Every day, employers, hospitals, retailers, technology platforms, and financial institutions gather enormous amounts of sensitive personal information. When that information is improperly collected, inadequately protected, or exposed in a security incident, the consequences can fall on the people who trusted those organizations with their data. We represent individuals, including employees, consumers, patients, students, and small business owners, by providing clear guidance and legal representation when their privacy or personal information may have been compromised.
Our team understands the stress and uncertainty that follow a data breach, unauthorized access, identity theft, or a biometric privacy violation. We focus on explaining complex issues in straightforward language, evaluating the full extent of the harm, and building claims that reflect both current and long-term risks. We believe every person has the right to control their private information, and we work to enforce that right nationwide.
Our Mission
Our mission is to protect individuals whose digital privacy rights have been violated and to pursue accountability when companies’ conduct causes legally recognized harm. Our practice focuses on Cyber Law, Biometric Privacy, Data Breach Litigation, and Identity Theft, including matters involving employee data exposure, unlawful monitoring, unauthorized access, and other forms of digital privacy harm.
We focus our practice entirely on representing people, and not corporations. By doing so, we fight to restore financial stability, personal security, and peace of mind for clients across the country who were harmed by organizations that failed to safeguard their personal information.
Our Areas Of Practice
Cyber Law
Cyber Law covers a wide range of issues involving digital privacy, technology, and the handling of personal information. We represent individuals affected by unauthorized account access, unlawful digital monitoring, improper data practices, and other potential privacy violations involving employers, businesses, and technology platforms.
Our attorneys review how the incident occurred, examine the laws that may apply, and evaluate the harm experienced by the affected individual. Depending on the circumstances, potential claims may involve federal or state privacy laws, consumer-protection laws, or other legal protections governing digital conduct and personal information.
Biometric Privacy
Biometric data can include fingerprints, facial scans, voiceprints, and retina or iris scans. Because these identifiers involve physical characteristics that generally cannot be replaced like a password or account number, their collection and use can raise significant privacy concerns. Potential violations may involve biometric data collection without consent or failures involving biometric data retention and destruction.
We represent individuals whose biometric information may have been collected, retained, disclosed, or otherwise handled in violation of applicable law. Our work includes claims arising under the Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA) in Illinois and other state biometric privacy laws. We analyze whether required disclosures were provided, whether legally sufficient consent was obtained, how biometric information was retained or shared, and what remedies may be available under the applicable statute.
Data Breach Litigation
Data breaches can expose sensitive personal information belonging to employees, customers, patients, and consumers. Incidents may result from ransomware, unauthorized system access, compromised credentials, vulnerabilities involving third-party vendors, or other security failures. Determining whether an affected individual has a legal claim requires examining how the breach occurred, the information involved, the resulting harm, and the laws that apply.
We represent plaintiffs whose financial information, medical records, personal identifiers, online credentials, or other sensitive data were exposed during security incidents. Our work may involve individual lawsuits, multi-plaintiff matters, and data breach class actions. We assess the scope of the exposure, investigate the circumstances of the incident, evaluate whether applicable laws were violated, and determine what legally recognized harms and remedies may be relevant to a potential claim.
Identity Theft
Identity theft can affect financial accounts, credit records, tax filings, employment records, medical information, and other parts of a person’s life. It may occur after personal information is exposed in a data breach or through many other forms of unauthorized access and misuse. When identity theft follows a data breach, determining whether the two events are connected requires careful review of the information exposed, the timing and type of misuse, and other available evidence.
We help clients document identity theft, review resulting harm, analyze how personal information may have been exposed, and evaluate whether there is a legal basis for a claim against an organization connected to the incident. Whether a person can sue for identity theft depends on issues such as causation, legally recognized harm, the defendant’s conduct, and the laws and remedies that apply.
Why We Represent Only Plaintiffs
Individuals deserve strong advocates when powerful organizations compromise their information. Companies often deny fault, minimize the impact of exposure, or blame external factors. By focusing our practice exclusively on plaintiffs, we ensure our loyalty is always aligned with the people facing the greatest financial and emotional burdens.
Our commitment is to hold companies accountable and push for safer, more responsible data practices across the United States.
